# AI role-play companion

> Use the optional AI narrator for freeform scenes, choices, and persistent scene memories.

The optional AI role-play companion can narrate freeform scenes, offer choices, and react like a live game master. It complements the standard menu-driven experience described in [Interaction & role-play lifecycle](/system-guide/interaction-and-roleplay).

## Start a narrated scene

If your account has access, a narrated scene type appears with the other options when you start an interaction with a partner.

During the scene, the companion can:

* Describe events in character.
* Offer a short list of actions or accept your own response.
* Handle dialogue, stat changes, and climaxes as the scene develops.
* Create a brief first-person memory and tags after the scene so meaningful moments can be recalled later.

Long scenes are condensed automatically to keep the narration coherent. Using the narrator may consume a limited account resource because each generated turn has a real cost.

## Content and access limits

The narrator respects the same body capabilities and content limits as standard scenes. It only offers actions that the participating characters can perform.

Access is granted per account. This experimental, opt-in feature does not replace standard scenes, so it is normal for some players not to see it.
